When you hear the term “concierge” your mind probably conjures images of a swanky hotel with white glove service, but it’s time to cast aside that old fashioned view. Concierge security professionals are most commonly found in every day places like apartment complexes, office buildings and warehouses. And, in recent years, demand for their services has never been higher.
These hard-working and flexible professionals are a special breed of security guard. They blend the best traits of customer service staff with the training and expertise of a dedicated security guard. Their specialized training makes them equally adept at answering calls, receiving packages, or protecting the property from theft, accidents or fires.

Typical properties suited to concierge security include:
- Government Buildings
- Office Buildings
- Medical Complexes
- Gated Communities

Duties Performed by Concierge Security Staff
When we onboard a new client for concierge services, we meet to get a better understanding of what their priorities are and how we can ensure the high standards of service they expect. We analyze areas like local crime statistics, and the types of incidents usually associated with the neighbourhood. From this research, we devise a custom security coverage plan for the building.
Alongside this effort, our concierge staff are trained to perform the following key duties:
- Receiving visitors and directing them to their destination
- Access control and keeping out individuals without authorization to enter
- Ensuring strata bylaws are followed (residential concierge)
- Monitoring of CCTV
- Incident report writing
- Responding to calls for assistance
- Receiving of packages
- Other front desk duties as required
