This week, I have seen first-hand the superhuman efforts frontline staff are making during the COVID-19 crisis.
While many of us across Canada are lucky enough to have the ability to work from home, there are those who must still go to work. To the doctors, nurses and medical staff keeping our hospitals and clinics open, we cannot express our gratitude sufficiently. You are all heroes. You are keeping us safe and are performing miracles under tough conditions.
Alongside these essential personnel, it’s only right to also highlight the incredible efforts being undertaken by other frontline staff – the ones keeping our grocery stores, pharmacies and other vital retail outlets open. Operating under busy conditions, these team members are working harder than ever to keep shelves stacked and maintain normal operations in the face of unprecedented demand.
Protecting Retail Personnel
Grocery and pharmacy store workers are key to holding our communities together during times of crisis. Without them, we wouldn’t have access to needed supplies for ourselves and our families. All they ask of us is to keep them protected by staying home when sick and practicing social distancing. It’s really not a lot to ask.
Blackbird has been honoured to play a small role in these efforts. Our team have been providing frontline security at Nesters, Rexall, IGA, Buy-Low, Safeway and Thrifties, ensuring social distancing policies are being followed while assisting in facilitating dedicated shopping hours for seniors and those in vulnerable groups.
We have immense gratitude for the work our team is doing in these challenging times and we are making every effort to keep them safe and healthy during this period.
Know that we are here to help in any capacity we can during this time. We are all in this together, and we will all get through this together.
