Built in 1989, Boucher Centre is a three-storey complex that houses a variety of businesses, including the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, the Met Hotel, and Manulife Bank. The centre serves as one of the main entrances to Columbia Station on the SkyTrain's Expo Line. TransLink acquired Boucher Centre in 2023 to enhance commuter access.

Uniformed Security Foot Patrols
Blackbird Security uniformed security guards patrol and monitor Boucher Centre during operating hours. These guards maintain a visible security presence, conducting regular patrols of public areas, retail spaces, and office areas. Starting from the main entrance, guards patrol each floor, monitoring common areas and verifying the security of all access points and key locations. Our uniformed guards pay particular attention to the centre's connection with Columbia Station, ensuring safe passage for the thousands of daily commuters who access the SkyTrain through the building.
Our security teams work closely with the businesses within the centre, maintaining regular communication with business staff and coordinating closely with TransLink security personnel to ensure seamless protection throughout the facility. When the centre closes for the day, our security guards close the connection from Columbia Station to Boucher Centre, ensuring overnight protection for businesses.
Overnight Mobile Security Patrols
Once the centre is closed, our mobile security guards patrol the property during overnight hours. Using marked security vehicles, these guards conduct patrols throughout the night on a randomized schedule, ensuring all areas of the property remain secure. Mobile security guards verify that all access points, including emergency exits and service doors, are properly secured. Guards monitor the exterior perimeter, parking areas, and streets while staying alert for signs of attempted break-ins or suspicious activity.
Since the last SkyTrain departs Columbia station at 1:46 AM nightly, overnight mobile guards will closely monitor the station connection when access to the mall is closed. Our mobile security guards coordinate with TransLink's overnight security personnel to maintain comprehensive protection of both the centre and Columbia Station.
The Blackbird Security 24/7 Control Centre team maintains constant communication with our mobile teams, allowing for immediate response to any triggered alarms or security concerns. In the event of a triggered alarm, a team member will immediately dispatch the nearest mobile security guard to investigate and respond.
