The Dreaming in Colour Program
Dreaming in Colour is a transformative employment essentials initiative designed to improve the employability of its participants. This comprehensive 12-week program focuses on building life skills, enhancing self-understanding, and preparing individuals for the job market. Through a series of workshops, participants gain valuable insights into various aspects of personal and professional development, including:
- Self-Understanding: Personality assessments, self-esteem enhancement, SMART goal setting, and career planning.
- Life Skills Training: Time management, stress management, mental wellness, nutrition, healthy lifestyles, critical thinking, internet safety, financial literacy, and digital literacy.
- Employment Preparation: Job searching, understanding labour market trends, professional conduct, employer expectations, and conflict resolution in the workplace.
Anwar’s Journey & Contribution
Anwar's journey with Dreaming in Colour began as a participant. The program played a pivotal role in helping him navigate the Canadian labour market and develop essential work skills. Inspired by his positive experience, Anwar decided to give back by becoming a regular volunteer and now as a representative of Blackbird Security and sharing his experience in the field of security. His dedication to the program and its participants is evident in the “Introduction to a Career in Security” workshops he conducts.
In his role, Anwar assists in preparing and teaching workshops, tailoring his sessions to meet the diverse needs of the participants. His real-world experience and success story serve as a powerful motivator, demonstrating the program's potential to transform lives.
